Short hunt at the neighbors

I usually get out to several schoools over Thanksgiving but not this year. Actually I hadn't been out all week. I went over to a neighbors house and hunted for about 15 min. I came up with a 37-s wheat cent and an 1882 Indian. I usually go for the total value count but I thought that this was still a good day for me.

Any day where an Indian comes up, even a crusty one, is a successful day in my book. As good as getting silvered.

  • I agree with LM. In fact, I love digging Indian Head cents better than digging modern silvers. Of course I'd like to find the older elusive silver that I've yet to find but in the meantime, just let me find Indian Head cents.

I so far have dug only TWO 1880's Indian Head cents, an 1888 and an 1884. None in the 1850's and 1870's yet and that is my goal for 2007.

For a 15 minute hunt, that's great! It takes me that long just to suit up.
