The hardest decision I made

Well I have a new addition to my family a beautiful little girl a week old now. I gave my wife my small car awhile ago, and I bought me a 71 Mustang. Well since i have 3 kids now i had to make a decision, Sell my Cards or Sell my Mustang to get something more family size. NOT A MINI VAN lol well I made the decision to sell the Mustang. I'm selling it on E-bay anyone else ever sold a car on E-bay? would you let me know how it went Thanks.

I have sold 2 cars and a motorcycle with no problems. I actually have a 1977 Datsun truck I listed tonight.
How about a link to that Mustang. I might be interested. I've had a 1976 Mustang II and also a 1980 and a 1994 GT.
  • Think twice about selling the mustang. I sold my 71 mach 1 red w/ white interior only 250 made and i have always regretted it.

Thank you. Im saving the cards for my son and daughter college, Im really bad about saving money because i enjoy buying older cards lol. I figure Im tired of taking a toothbrush to the engine every winter because it never see's the rain or snow and Ohio is really bad for salt on the roads during the winter time. I only take it out on weekends and thats only if it's a nice day.

  • Your decision makes sense!

    Kids will love the cards.

If not, they can sell them off and throw a real nice kegger.

Good luck on the sale of the car - it's hot!

Sold my 1964 1/2 cherryapple red before I got married to pay for the marriage. Now she opens cases of cards with me and all of my registry sets are titled with me and my daughter.

You made the right choice because you will own that same model in 15-20 years again. Mark my words. Because I have less than 15 until I get my 'tang back.
  • HAPPY HOLIDAYS Everyone!

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Valerie LeeAnn is a pretty name. You have a nice car there. Good luck with the sale. You should get your price for it. If I had the money I would buy it. I know how you feel about selling it. A couple years ago I had to sell my Mint 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car. It only had 25,000 miles. It will only hurt for a little while. Having the kids around makes it worth selling.

Thank you very much Yes selling the car is very hard to do but I very much enjoy collecting cards as well and I know my kids are going to enjoy it, when they are old enough. Thats a very nice car there. I feel your pain lol

    Mike,

I don't know much about selling cars on eBay, but I would wonder if blacking out your license plate would be advised. Anyone have any thoughts in this?

Nice car BTW, and a beautiful baby girl!

You have beautiful baby girl and a great looking son! I sold a motorhome on ebay and I would do it again. I had no problems and I actually got more money for it on ebay than I would have sold it for sitting in front of my house.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

I can understand why you are selling the car but the car will increase in value more than the cards in the next 15 or 20 years. In the last 3 or 4 years, muscle car values have skyrocketed. I bought on about 3 1/2 years ago. It is appraised at more than 2X what it was when I bought it.
I hope you don't mind a little friendly advice about your auction. You need to tell more about the car. Are the engine and transmission the original ones that the car left the factory with? What has been done to the engine? Is it stock? Any issuse with the body or paint? Any rust? Anyone that is interested in the car will want to know all about it. By telling as much as you can in the auction description you will save yourself and potential bidders the hassle of sending and replying to emails.

And they will want to know about the well-known problem areas of the Mustang. I have no clue about the car, but when I was into the mid 80's Nissan 300ZX's I could rattle off at least 30 questions that I would have about buying one of those cars. Such as, in the 300ZX cars the fuel gauge is very problematic, so I would ask if the fuel gauge works. If you get a lot of emails, you will probably start to see a pattern for their questioning. Any upgrades is always a big one; tires, stereo, suspension, etc... Even little details such as type of motor oil, transmission fluid, and gasoline.

I think add "fastback" to your title, since the fastbacks are so much more in demand. Also if it's still there add a pic of the data plate so people can see if it is an original 351C car,and if so if it's a 2V or a 4V engine. Also if it came with the C6 tranny and what axle code is there. That stuff matters a lot. If you can't get a good closeup at least copy the plate and add that to your description.

If my garage wasn't full that car would be headed to PA. I had a 73 mach1 a couple years ago and loved it, and I had an orange 70 back in the day. I would keep the car and sell the cards, then sell the car if needed when college or whatever rolls around. It's easier to sell one car than a collection of cards.

Well no Bids but a few people wants to look at the car. One person haset to sell his car first then he can get mine, the other person was already a high bidder on another car then saw mine and wants it so not all has failed. Thank you everyone who replied and helped out with some decisions about what to put. Unfortunally I wasnt home alot so I couldnt do what some of you suggested but thank you anyway. I think now i will get some cards ready for Submission lol.
