I just saw that the date of the coins will appear on the edge. I would have never guessed that.

ever since the initial news about this series, I've not read anything about the coins due to my extreme level of disinterest, so I will say NO to the poll.

I'm really interested in seeing if these will circulate. Recently I bought some stamps from a vending machine at the Post Office and I got bright & shiney 2001 Sacs in change. Never seen 2001's before, let alone shiney ones. Does this mean the banks are running out of 2000's? Was there a run on 2000's because of the Cheerios Sackies?

Anyway, I just love to pay for stuff with shiney Sackies. You always get the cashier looking at them as if they can't decide if they got valuable treasure or not.
  • I think I will like them if they have a cool finish, maybe dull and smooth...

I followed the bill as it changed over the last 2 years and the incuse edge lettering was there from the start.

    So, yes.

I am still a little weirded out by the omission of the word "liberty."

Yeah, me too. Maybe they could use "SECURITY."

They kept "In God We Trust" but the omitted "liberty." I know they say that having the Statue of Liberty is enough to convey the concept but I still don't like it.

Yes, one of the first things I noticed when the mint put up images of them on their site!
  • Sure I knew. It was included in the legislation that was discussed and voted on and passed over a year ago.
