WT's Fugio

I bought WT's fugio on ebay here. The color looks a little red to me in the auctio photos but in hand it looks almost lincolnesque, as in, 1994 RD type red. Is that a result of cleaning? Here are some higher resolution photos but don't capture the red lustre. BTW, anybody know who WT is?

Too bad WT didn't see fit to hole it, too- I would've armwrestled you for it.

Looks like a KN-14"O" (letter O, not zero), a pretty decent variety and not one of the ubiquitous Bank of New York varieties. Too bad it was messed up chemically and scratched. How much did you pay for it? It is one of the good ones (well.....they are all good) at the right price of course. Congrats on your acquisition.

That could be arranged....just look the other way for a moment image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Tsk, tsk, Bochiman- you know I can't have any shiny-copper, freshly drilled 21st century holes, now, can I? image

I'd have to retone the hole. And then it would be *gasp* AT! image

I think a square nail hole would be nice. I have a 1738 halfpenny with a square nail hole. And a Nova Constellatio.

Hey, Coxe- he put a link to the auction in there.

You might not be much good at spotting hyperlinks, but it looks like you nailed the variety! image

Thanks. I'm interested in what the chemical damage is. I thought I bid quite low considering the details on this Fugio and rarety and won it because of the grafitti. But I don't think the coin looks nearly as good in hand. Later today I'll try to learn custom white balance and post some better photos of it. Happy Thanksgiving all,
    Jerry
