What to people think of this Morgan?

I've done the best I can with the camera I have ( 3.1 pixels ) the coin really is sliver in color, not much luster.
Lady looks like she was in a knife fight, couple of slashes on her check. Otherwise coin looks pretty good to me.
What you guys think?
Thanks,
Jim

Just getting back into collecting after 30 years. My how things have changed. I'm in a learning mode.

Yep. The shiny unnatural sheen of the fields and the tiny parallel scratches do indicate that it has been cleaned. Sorry.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    Yup. It's junk silver now.

Welcome back to the hobby and have fun. Don't let that cleaned coin sour you on it. BTW, there are plenty of perfectly nice (and relatively inexpensive) 1921 BU Morgans out there for you.

  • I agree with the cleaning thoughts. There's also a nasty wound on the reverse near the "E" in America.

Yep, I took a pencil eraser to a prety ful album of Lincoln cents I had assembled whenI was a kid. Showed it to the dealer (Frank Almond at the Downingtown Farmer's Market, for those in the Delaware Valley) and he taught me my first important lesson in collecting coins.

Use your computer to do that. Look at the certified morgans in the Heritage auctions, Teletrade auctions, and use the closeup and other features to your heart's content. Free info, free education.
