New Purchase: 1898 PCGS MS-64 DMPL Morgan Dollar

I'd like to know what some of the other PL/DMPL Morgan Dollar specialists think about this new 1898 PCGS MS-64 DMPL Morgan Dollar purchase. According to the PCGS population report this is a pop 130/70.

According to Bowers "Many prooflike coins exist, one-sided as well as two sided, but are not deeply mirrored. DMPL coins with cameo contrast are rare indeed."

The following original auction images are scans which do not depict the mirrored field surface reflectivity very well.

It is honestly hard to tell from theimages they provided, Stuart. The strike is certainly nice. The cheek is short of gem. I would guess they upped the brightness to get past the rim toning and that the contrast is probably better but the devices not as white. You can find some rather nice DMPLs for this date. As you showed the pop, it is a good one to be selective on in this grade (and MS65DMPL) without usually paying any premium for PQ.
