Did you guys see this auction on ebay?

I thought this would go for a lot more than this. I know there is some time left, but I thought it would be higher at this point (This is not my auction or anyone that I know)

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

God, what a bunch of crap.

  • Gotta give him an "A" for effort. He has a lot of time wrapped up in this auction.

  • To be honest, as it stands right now, I think whoever wins this auction will be overpaying. The auction appears to be all presentation. Upon close examination of what all the cards laid out actually are there seems to be a lot of late-80s/early-90s junk. I actually saw a 1991 Donruss Highlights card there in a top loader. No close-up scans, no list or break down of the individual highlights and the 60s and 70s stars (what little there are) look to be in real rough shape.

I know he claims to have 15 Mantles in there but I could load an auction with late-90s/2000s Mantles and toss in a few banged up older cards and it wouldn't really be worth it.

I'd stay far away from this one. Just my $0.02

This is like buying a pig in a poke.

Yes, there are a lot of pictures, but nothing is up close, so if the condition cannot be verified, then why even take a chance when there are so many other things to spend money on.

Overwhelming quantity, little in the way of quality. I don't think it's worth what it went for and many of the vintage cards appear to be commons and semi-stars.

  • Geez, how long did it take him to lay it out, take the photos, upload the photos and type all that crap out onto ebay? Say he hired someone to do it for him, at $10 an hour, i'd say he he almost close to breaking even on the labor costs. image
