A minor newp arrived today...

Haven't bought a coin in a while and while this wasn't what I was specifically looking for, the strike called to me. This is a very nice strike for this date, even though it's mostly a widget. The luster is better than it appears here, because I suck at imaging.

Nothing spectacular, but it's been a long time since I've been able to post a new purchase.

Not a bad looking widget to me.

    Congrats on the purchase.

Yup. This coin is an ICG AU-58. As much as ICG gets trashed sometimes, I've found that classic ICG 58s are some of the nicest ones out there. And this one has a really nice strike for a '92-O; the breast feathers aren't boldly struck like you'd see on an '81-S but they ARE completely struck with full detail, and that's unusual since many of them are struck with a bare eagle's breast and a large flat spot over the ear.

I sold a nearly fully struck '92-O last year (green label 10-digit PCI MS-63, later NGC 62) and I regretted it because it's so difficult to find a (relatively) well-struck '92-O. This gave me a second chance, and at the AU-58 grade, at one-third the price I sold the previous coin for even though this coin has fewer hits and gouges.
