    ... bunch of no names!

Think you could like anybody a little better?

mantlefan7 and thedpro are trying to earn commission by posting all these links..

in fact, i do believe "mantlefan7" and "thedpro" are the same person, considering both of their commission links have the same referral code..

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

    1. Its interesting that you know about my links. That must mean you are doing the same thing.
    2. I am not the same person as Mantlefan7
    3. You are correct. I earn a commission from ebay. So what? I am not selling anything. I am not promoting my own auctions. It doesn't cost you anything. I may end up giving one of your auctions some added publicty. I am not flooding the message boards with garbage. Why do you have such a problem with what I am doing?
    4. Do you honestly think that Mantlefan7 and I are the only ones on this board working this angle?

i stand corrected.. you are not the same as mantlefan7, i notice you do have slightly different referral codes..

and i dont have "such a problem" as you say, with you posting the referral links here, all i did was point out the facts, envoy98 asked you what was up with all the referral links, and i told him..

  • He was asking Mantlefan.

If its not such a problem for you, then why are you following my posts and talking about my commission?

im just curious, thats all.. why, did you want to keep it a secret?

do you earn commission even from existing ebay members if we click your links?
    ·p_A·
  • I only get a commission on closed auctions. If you just click I do not get paid.

I am trying to use this as a springboard for discussion. If you look at my past posts you will see that. I am not blantently putting up links with no substance behind them.

If you want discussion, here's my contribution: this is junk.

We're here to talk about cards, not to help you make money.
  • I NEVER asked you to help me make money. You do not have to do anything to help me make money. I DO talk about cards in my posts. If you read them, you would see that.

I find it somewhat offensive that 2 people that have rarely, if ever, contributed to this board would use it for an income stream for themselves. I'd very much like to hear what CU and it's moderators think of this practice.

The issue here seems quite simple to me, if you are truly here to make quality sportscard related posts, then there should be no reason for you to include the junk in your links. It seems obvious from going back and reading a few of thedpro's posts that they are very slanted to get people to click on the links.

damn, poor bastige.. i feel bad.. image

i guess i personally have nothing against what thedpro was doing.. it's kinda sneaky though.. i thought most people used those referral links on their own website, after they generate their own traffic, rather than piggybacking on CU's traffic..

at least thedpro tried to hide it well and under the guise of legit topics.. mantlefan7, errr, not so much..

  • I want to go on record to say that PAndrews is a GREAT asset to our board.

He's got a knack for uncovering these sort of "issues" .... I for one am definitely appreciative.

He's kind of like a friendly, local sheriff. Keeps everything hunky dory in CU-ville.

    Thanks, PAndrews!!!!
