PS- could be worse. this guy can't make up his mind between "connerative" and "commerative". Wrong both times.
Yes I forgot the old lesson, never draft tired or angry.
In any case the gold coins are 100K and the silver coins are 500K. The question is: Are they only going to mint the amount already sold? Are these going to reappear like the 2005 proof sets some time next year? I have a hard time believing they sold 500k of the silver coins. So it may be a case of just limiting the amount minted.

I guess you're referring to selling out due to Dec. 15 deadline?
Having sold only about half the mintages allowed, I'll bet they extend it!
(sent my damaged golds back, too -- hope to keep the silvers -- Should look nice next to the old Morgans!)

I'll try to post photo's when I get home.
I'll keep the coin but I am not nearly as impressed as I thought I would be. Maybe its just a reflection of the Mints current MASS Production philosophy. I am hoping that the business strike looks better.
The name is LEE!
Fortunately, no problems with the coin. The obverse looks much better in hand than it does on the website. I agree that the motto on the reverse has unusual lettering, compared to even circulated Morgans; not quite the Old English lettering the true silver dollars have. On the other hand, I think of the reverse as an homage to a classic silver dollar and that it was not meant to be an exact reproduction. The eagle, for example, looks terrific to me.
The Mint, by LAW must stop selling these. SO, it's not a sell out, far from it, but it is you last chance.
about 140,000 proof and 60,000 unc. Silvers. Not sure if that includes 50,000 proofs for the legacy set. Max. mintage 500,000
I have the silver proof, I'm not impressed. I'm waiting for the Unc. I bought just for my collection.
Frankly, I'm suprised that so many there are PCGS grades are coming up 69s and even 70s . If I compare any of those I've seen to the ASE/AGEs I'm amazed they're getting obtaining even 66s and 67s. There are tiny shiny dots and pockmarks in the windows, on the pedement, in the filed, on the letters. They're nowhere near as clean as the 68 ASE's I received.
Oh, and not only did they extend the date, they've offered dealers who purchase 25 or more at a time discounts. So what we have are relatively lower quality coins that potentially have the largest mintage since the '94 World Cup Commemoratives.
