NEWP for tonight.........

World Coinage is such a large field of endeavor, which is one of the things i like about it. However, I am pretty much after beautiful designs only; something that really catches my eye as opposed to rarity, etc.
I picked this one up tonight, I love the standing Helvetia. Now, to find the other sizes in this series in this condition. BTW, this is one old NGC slab (even without the seperating line between the top and bottom) so it may upgrade as most of these old NGC and PCGS holders tend to be undergraded. Anyway, just thought i'd share for my favorite forum

<< <i>Look for the 2F coins also of this design. >>
i've got my eye out for one of those too. did the 5 franc design differ from this one?
thanks
Doug
I got a couple of Swiss francs that looked like that from Dimitri... but they were dated 1966.
I had already sent an almost complete run of 1940s francs to Don, that's why.
ps: Rob, these 1966 ones came from an original roll that I had bought and opened, I must have sent one to several members, I think I had paid less than a dollar per coin. Nevertheless, some of them were slabbed and resold too.

actually, its a cattle prod. During this time, Swiss women would frequently don Toga outfits and shileds to herd their cattle. little bit of history for ya'!
