I think I know the answer.but what would you do with this Ebay Situation?

Bob,I finally received your money order as of today. I havnt opened it yet because I am not sure what to at this moment? Im fairly new with this ebay thing and may of gotten to impatiant with our transaction. Not to say some advice I received from a few other ebayers did not help. There advice was that since I was to receive payment per priority mail and it didnt show up in 3 days or less, it may not be coming? After giving it 5 days I started to believe they were right. So the next step was to go ahead and relist my Item to try again. So I did. 2 days later I receive your payment. Now what do I do? I already have bids on this coin again. Seems you have been with ebay for a while. Have you had this kind of situation before? How do you fix it without bad feedback? Could use some help please! Can I cancel the new listing after it has bids on it? I would like to get this resolved quickly so I can get this coin off to you!! Will wait for your reply, Thks, Darren

  • Hi Darren, you impatient goof. End the listing, reason that it's no longer available, or problem with the listing, whatever, just end it. See where it was mailed from, Darren? We're Third World here, Darren, you're lucky you ever got it. I'll expect my package in 3 days or less. Oh, wait, you're in Arkansas. That's Third World too. OK, five days or you're getting negged, pal.

    Love,

  • The seller can always close the second auction down and then send the coin to you. Or he can just send you your payment back. Not a huge deal. New people make mistakes.

Have him close the auction stating it is no longer available. Advise him the bidders cannot leave negative feedback, only someone that wins an auction.

In my mind this is the only alternative. Otherwise, your gonna neg him for sure.

Tell him to stop seeking advice from other eBayers who are as clueless as he is.

    Here is my response:

Yep, Big mistake and bad advice. I have waited many times up to 30 days for payment, its called trust. The whole Ebay program is based on trust.

Under Ebay rules, not mine, but Ebay rules, you are under contract obligation to sell me the coin. You can cancel your second listing, but Ebay, not me, requires you to cancel the bids first. Since you’re new, go seek some Ebay advice on their forum, it’s a good source of the correct information. You may also need to explain what happened to the new bidders, Ebay may even forgive your relisting fees, but that is up to them. I trust you will do the right thing.

    Bob

I do want to do the right thing, and that’s to get this coin to you. I have contacted (as of now)the highest bidder to let him know what happened and that I was wanting to cancel the auction. Will wait for his reply.
    Thks for the help

What's the guy going to do if his high bidder says no?

You can end an auction early if there is MORE than 12 hours left.
It will ask if you you want to cancel all bids OR sell to the highest bidder when closing
You say Not to sell to highest bidder and reason as the item is no longer for sale.
The highest bidder on the second auction need not know the circumstances other than " Item NO Longer Available for sale"

IF the auction Closed already it gets a little stickier ... you did not say wether it was an active auction or a closed one ..

Ebay will not refund your monies either way.

    Good Luck

Here is the final message: I will also wait till the coin arrives to see if it is as decent as I HOPE it will be and explain my calm over this matter.

Well, I was able to get this auction ended. Took some time but its canceled! I will be shipping your coin tomarrow, priority mail also... Hope it gets to you soon. Mail maybe slow with the holiday weekend? Thanks again for the help, and (your) patience. I left you positive feedback also. Happy Thanksgiving and an early Merry Christmas

It's nice when a little communication and level headedness can resolve a situation to the satisfaction of both parties.
