Its almost as bad as the real estate market.
Remember the good ole days when if you had one of these, it was almost like gold?

i lived in SF from '00-'03 and really got into Bonds craze, but today i can only shake my head and wonder WTF????

<< <i>I've been buying up 1987 Fleer rack cases at a decent price. I think Bonds will be back as he approaches Aaron. I think most average fans, the ones that cause buying frenzies, don't care about the Roids. >>
I second that. chaz
<< <i>Me neither. I am glad I got rid of the ones I had when I did. It was just at the start of his demise. Now he is a running joke. If he had an ounce of class (which I doubt he does), he will get to 754 home runs and retire. That would show that he could have broken the record, but will give credit where it is due, to the tride and true champion. >>
That's the silliest thing I have ever heard. Get within one of the record and quit because half of the fans don't like you. It's a lot like how they treated Maris when he hit 61 because he was not the "Right" guy to do it.

Remember back in 1995 when some people suggested that Cal Ripken stop at 2130 consecutive games and "share" the record with Mr. Gehrig? Believe or not, some in the media did.

When did Bonds get hemroids? Is this something that we should be talking about. I mean, come on, isn't one mans "roids" his business? I can tell you that I don't talk about mine. Well, I guess I just did.

I don't recall Cal Ripken being in the center of a steriod controversy. No one was questioning the validity of his record.

YES, they were "questioning the validity of his record".
Many (The Media) thought Ripken should not play game 2131 to share the record with Gehrig. It was talked about that the with todays Medicine and Medical Treatments, Comfortable Modern Travel, Nutriution and Training techniques that it was not the same or as "Valid" as Gehrigs playing streak.
It seems the "Media" is against any present day player breaking the record of a Pre War HOF Player and will always find a argument that someone will agree with.

I stand corrected. I was not aware of that. Actually an interesting point the media brought up. HOWEVER, none of those things broke the law or were against league regulations. And yes, it has never been proven that Bonds took steriods, but all systems that make justice calls have flaws. Look at OJ.
