Heritage photos, and Ira & Larry Goldberg

In searching for auction house threads here, in one from 2004 several people mentioned that Heritage's photos were poor and not the best route for selling color coins. Has this changed or is it still valid?
Also, from the Goldbergs' website I see this-
'Our gorgeous, full-color catalogue is mailed to buyers and available online 3 weeks prior to each sale. Your consignments are marketed to collectors, dealers and investors worldwide via our catalogue, Ebay Live, Icollector, and our website.
Additionally, coin sale highlights are showcased in national and international publications and our emailed newsletter."
I noticed that coin conventions and floor auctions aren't mentioned. Are their auctions online only?

Goldberg's auctions are indeed floor auctions, often held prior to large coin shows.
However, if I had a toned coin I wanted to sell at auction I wouldn't send it ot Goldbergs, but rather Stacks/ANR -- if the quality of a photograph was that much of a concern.
That being said, one has to wonder just how much a picture matters in the larger auctions with the number of people viewing the lots in-person....Mike

<< <i>RYK, do their floor auctions take place in whichever city the convention is in? Thanks. >>
Generally, the Goldbergs auctions are held in Beverly Hills at the Crowne Plaza the weekend just before the three Long Beach shows. They deliver lots to Long Beach.
