I won't bid on any ebay auction where the bidder's identity is hidden. It doesn't matter how desirable the item might be. Private ebay auctions too often allow clever shill bidding.

Agreed. They should do away with the private auction. Can anyone provide one legitimate example that would justify a private auction?
