Found these on my desk. Thought you'd enjoy seeing these two checks, that I never cashed, and saved the envelopes they came in from an insurance company.

One check is for 2 cents (the insurance company paid 52.5 cents, plus large 10 cent mailer/envelope!)
Another check is for 1 penny (and again, the insurance company paid 52.5 cents, plus large 10 cent mailer/envelope!).

Some months after receiving these two checks, I received a letter from the insurance company (& they spent another 30 or so cents in S/H!) letting me know, that two checks have been sent to me and have not been cashed, one for one cent and the other for two cents, and if they didn't hear from me within 90 days, to issue replacement ckecks (for 1 and 2 cents? ) they would close out their files.

...and does one wonder why our insurance rates are sooooooooooooooooo damn high?

But, when I was stationed in Turkey, I went into my sports jacket inside pocket and found 400$!!!

I had forgotten I stashed it in there for a rainy day.

$23,852!? I don't even make that much in two years. I sure wish someday I can spend that much on cards and get classic 1970s and maybe 1960s Topps sets or something.
