Another card shop find - the Iron Horse - scans!

Just got this beauty back from PSA, I'm a little dissapointed that it didn't come back as a 7, although I can't really argue with the grade (strong corners, centering is within 7 guidelines, but I guess it would be an ugly 7). A local card shop that generally sells VG/EX cards for the NM price had this card on consignment. Definitely the most I ever paid for a card, but it's a beauty! Enjoy!

  • whatever you paid, it was worth it. I wish I had a card shop around my way like that, where you can find raw, unaltered vintage. One day I will hopefully lol. What'd ya pay? Certainly(hopefully) you made out.

    Great card image

I wanna know what card shop you go to that has stuff like that !

The couple of shops still left near me sell nothing but shiny stuff and a scattered few junk vintage.

  • Well, most of the vintage stuff that this dealer sells really isnt quality stuff, and there are a bunch of altered cards (even reprints!) in his inventory. I've had to point out to him on more than one occassion that one of the T206's he was trying to sell was a reprint. The Gehrig was sold on consignment along with a few other '33 Goudeys, thats the only reason why I trusted the card. Luckily the Gehrig was in the best shape of all of them.

    Congratulations Fastball

    It's a great card - I don't have a Lou card.

Do you think maybe the centering kept it from a 7?

I would be proud to own the card - thanx for sharing.
