Anyone else get in on NEN's Ebay stuff?

I initially had about 10 snipes in place on NEN's world coins that ended yesterday on Ebay. Then I smacked myself back into reality and dropped it down to 4. Got outbid on 3 of the 4, but picked up the piece below.

A bit hairlined on the obverse (although those marks may be on the slab rather than on the coin), but looks to be a sharply struck piece. NEN's description says "semiprooflike" so it will be interesting to see it in hand.

It ended up selling at less than 50% of NEN's original asking price. In fact quite a few of the world pieces ended up selling for significantly below the prices on the web site.

Anyone else snag any goodies?

Yes, there were a few $1 starts that went inexpensive. Unfortunately I removed my snipes for 6 of them because something else came up... Wish I would have kept the snipes no since I didn't win the other.
  • Very nice. The first thing that sprang out at me when I first looked at the picture was the frostiness of the hair. I am very surprised, since it is in an NGC holder, that it wasn't graded PL or at least given a star.

Under different circumstances, I could have been interested in this one, but the timing just wasn't right. image

They still have a few nice no reserve world coins, some of which at very low prices as I'm typing this. All of them seem that they will close way below the original asking price on their website.

Congrats on the Nova Scotia half cent, I can't wait for your pictures of it.

ps: sliderider, I don't think that NGC gives stars to world coins.
