ACG sues everyone in the entire world

I've been out of coin collecting for a while, so I'm a bit behind on the latest happenings, but I found this funny as hell when I visited the ACG website recently.

ACG says they're all out to get me!!

I thought I read that the ANA settled this suit and ACG actually got money for deceiving the public. There is no justice.
  • When did you hear about the settlement? This amendment was filed with the court on July 11, 2006. As I said, I am really behind on recent happenings in the coin industry.

There is a thread today on the lightside here.
  • Ah, ok. Thanks for linky. image I actually did a search a few minutes ago and Google shows a listing about a judge settling the suit but when I went to the site, (CoinWorld) it wasn't there anymore or in the archives, either, so I couldn't read it. I do remember reading the survey results that basically tore ACG to shreds and thinking nothing good was going to come of it, when ACG was rated as Poor in every category. I've tried cracking ACG, PCI and even a few in house slabs in the past and you need a course in safecracking to get into the damn things, which was why I was so surprised when everyone surveyed replied the slabs of the less well known grading services were flimsy and weak compared to PCGS/NGC/ANACS slabs.

I posted this on the other thread, just as an fyi for those who follow stuff like this:

Ah-collectibles ebay id is now treasuregalleryinc Linkage.

Please note this is merely a statement of fact and a linkage to publically available information. No opinions regarding this ebay vendor, or statements regarding the business practices of said vendor, are made or otherwise implied, nor are they to be inferred.

I was going to ask about that as well because I noticed that AH Collectibles was no longer a registered user on ebay and treasuregallery seemed to be carrying strictly ACG slabs.

We had a discussion about one of their coins here where at least one forum member found himself banned by the seller for offering an opinion about the monetary value of their coins.

Please note that this is merely a statement of fact and not actionable as libel under any interpretation of the law obvious to anyone who's not dumber than a trained monkey.

So he banned globalcoin because he thought that a 70% Charlton offer was offensive? Someone should talk to him about our bluemoon offers. image

ps:IMO, there is no such thing as an offensive offer. With the new BIN+best offer system, the seller can place an undisclosed reserve, under which all offers get immediately auto declined, let alone that he can also counteroffer.
