My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

    Prayers.

I grew up on the Bo vs. Woody game. The Big Two and Little Eight conference.

Me too...I always it seemed as if Bo & the boys always had my Buckeyes' number. He may have never won a National Championship but he still ranks as one of the greats in my eyes.....
    Collecting:
    Dallas Cowboys
    SuperBowl MVPs
    Heisman Trophy Winers
  • Being a Buckeye fan does not go well giving more fuel and reason to win tomorrow...but he was a great coach and my hat goes of to him. Prayers and thoughts go out for his family he was one of the best. Was'nt he an assistant under Woody at one time
If they are in the Hall they are in my collection

Roughly 10 years ago, I attended a fund raiser at the Cottage Inn Cafe in Ypsilanti, Michigan (probably a few blocks from the Boopotts residence). It was nothing fancy, they had "guest waiters", and all tips were donated to charity. Most of the "guest waiters" were coaches and other sports personalities from nearby Eastern Michigan. The big draw was Bo Schembechler. He wasn't actually waiting tables, he was just walking around visiting people. My wife (girlfriend at the time) and I dined there frequently.

I was wearing a Michigan State jacket at the time. I told Bo that if he would don the jacket and take a picture with us, I would leave a donation for the charity. Bo agreed immediately. The few people around us gasped a bit when he put on the jacket. Just before the picture was snapped, he grabbed the jacket at the zipper and covered up the Sparty logo. It was funny.

My one and only brush with Bo. Nobody despises the University of Michigan more than I do, but Bo was a class act and a strong man for sure.
