My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Wow...from my card shop owning days I don't recall those 83T rookies to be that hard to find centered and mint.

Something aint right there. 10's just do not go for that much.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

    OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! What the heck is up with Ryno 10's??? I got mine for like $225 a couple years ago, and that should be just about the going rate still.

Oh yeah? Check this one out... Ebay# 190045644335

BTW, the high bidder on the current auction seems to be buying a lot of rookie PSA 10's.

I agree - and, I could barely give away beautiful 9's of this card less than a year ago. What gives?

  • just checked the completed listings, the last one sold for $911 on Nov 3rd. four sharp corners sold it. SMR is still at $300

The card in the first auction seem a little off top to bottom in centering. Seems like one could find one better in PSA 10.
  • The seller is as legit as they get. He also has a 1 hr. sportscard talk show on ESPN I think Sat or Sunday mornings in Chicago.

Figures I sold one on eBay three years or so ago for about 250 to 300 as I recall. I never get top dollar for my cards. image
  • Wow, I am a Sandberg collector... but not that much. image

You know, I bought my 1980-84 Topps sets from a gentleman here in Owensboro a few years ago who said he made the sets out of busted open wax cases and such, and let me "cherry pick" through the key cards to get whichever ones I thought looked the best, and let me tell you, my 1982 Ripken and 1983 Boggs/Gwynn/Ripken/Sandberg cards I think just might have a shot at 10s if I ever had the heart to get all my key 1980s cards graded. Of course, the only reason I'd ever consider getting my cards graded (since they're in my permanent collection) would be if I was lucky enough to get any 10s on the right cards and could sell them for several hundred dollars each, I could then buy say, a PSA 8 or something to replace it for my permanent collection and use the profit for my other collecting projects.

But with my luck, I'll spend all that money to get them graded and despite the fact I did my very best to pick only the very best looking cards, get only 7's and 8's. And all my Donruss sets from 1983-91 (except 1984) are from factory sets. Now, Donruss did do that "extra edge trimming" on the factory set cards to make the cards look nicer and indeed they are very easy on the eyes, but I've heard from here PSA will probably be dumbasses and return them with "evidence of trim" image Don't they realize that the 1985 Donruss Tom Seaver COR was only in the factory sets?? image

Shilled sheet cut 10 that PSA supposedly does not grade:

    Total bids: 718
    Items bid on: 715
Bid activity (%) with this seller: 94%
    Bid retractions: 0

True, but you need to take all the PWCC hammer prices with a grain of salt. It could be legit, but the fact that something like five of the six high bidders have 30%+ of their bidding activity with this seller should make everyone a little skeptical.

I didn't spend anytime studying the auctions last night. I was just browsing through some of the listings about to end that stuck out. This was one of them.
  • Hmmm, I have a few of these that I may need to send in to get graded. I had no idea that they were selling for this much.
