Anaconda Rare Coins - Spectacular Baltimore New Purchases and Show Report!

We had a fairly good Baltimore show. We wanted to buy more material but finding it is getting harder and harder. Premiums on many common date toned coins seem to be dropping off as of recently and toned Commemoratives seem to be taking a nice swing upward. Sales were ok but with both Adrian and I both looking for material for our clients and to inventory, our table was not exactly geared up for sales. I hope you enjoy our new purchases. I've listed greysheet wholesale for comparison with our prices in most of the listings where applicable. You'll find that many are less than 10% above greysheet listed values and some are actually under.

Our recent trip to the Baltimore Coin and Currency convention went smoothly and the weather was outstanding with temperatures in the 70's the entire time we were there. Our primary goal was to move out some older inventory and refresh it with newer material to tide us over until the Heritage sale at the end of November. We did accomplish selling off some old inventory, and manage to come back with about 70 or so new coins which are already up on the website with images and descriptions. Overall, the show was "ok", not bad, not great but we would have liked to see more nice material on the floor as nice coins seemed to be exceedingly difficult to find.

Overall material at the show - 7 out of every 10 coins we looked at were not attractive at all for the grade with most of them sadly overgraded, yes, even PCGS graded coins. Out of the other 30% of coins we looked at, we might have picked out one because some of the asking prices were outrageous but every now and then a nice coin at a great price came along and that is what we stuck to buying with the exception of coins on want lists with explicit instructions to pick up examples of certain dates and varieties. I have included greysheet pricing where applicable to illustrate how reasonable our current asking prices are and to show that many of these pieces will be spoken for in the near future. So if you see a coin that you have interest in, give me a call at 1-800-440-8334 and secure it.

The public attendance was moderate but not overwhelming. This probably had to do with the fact that the show has expanded and is absolutely huge.
