Huggy Bear and Razor Ray start that battle. If only Brashear aka. Huggy bear would still fight, instead of having his gloves cemented to his hands in Washington now. Razor was great, but way past his prime in that fight. Props for dropping them with Huggy.
Thats high quality good ole' time hockey....What a great way to start my day, thanks Knuckles

I don't recall what game that was but it was mentioned during the broadcast. It was also probably mentioned during the pre-game talk by North Star's coach Glen Sonmor who was never one to back down from a fight. I believe he threatened to send Gerry Cheever's head home in a basket during their game against the Bruins a week or two before record setting night.
It really was a turning point for the North Stars that year. While they did get beat pretty soundly that night they did end up knocking off the B's in the first round of the playoffs by winning the first two games at the Garden. Up until that point they had never won a game in Boston Garden. 14 stinking years and they hadn't won a game there.

Was that game last year? Maybe the Flyers need a game like that THIS year to light a fire under themselves. (As of tonight they're 3-12.)

And broke the single game PIM of 406 set by my beloved North Stars and Bob C's evil Bruins. That game was back on Feb 26th 1981.
Was that the game when John Wensink called on the entire North Stars bench and had no takers?????

Good stuff.
That's definitely the hockey I love though.
