Just sit back and digest this for a minute. A former football star's wife and boyfriend are brutally slain, and said football star is the primary suspect. He gets acquitted, yet comes back some 10 years later to tell the world how he WOULD have done it if he'd had a mind to kill her. Honest to God, can anyone here find anything in the annals of Western history that's in poorer taste than this? Even if you loathe the Goldman family, how in good conscious could you write a book AND do a TV show describing how you would have have greased their son?
What would possibly be the equivalent of this? Say John Wayne Gacy had maintained his innocence, then come out some-odd years later with a book declaring that while he had nothing to do with the deaths of those boys they found buried under their house, if he HAD raped and killed them he wouldn't have strangled them, but rather decapitated them and buried them behind the town library? I mean, what would you do with a story like that? You can't get your head around it. It's just so WEIRD, on so many levels, that you're ultimately forced to draw the veil and pretend you never saw.

Is a "how I would do it" thing in poor taste? You bet! But it is even poorer in taste, for anyone who would buy anything by that man, so he can profit off it!
We live in a society now, where people write books, often the "authors" are those who committed felonious acts, or are just morally bankrupt. Mary Kay Letorneaux committed a felony on more than one occasion, and I read she has a book in the works that will be out soon, if not already, if I remember correctly, a movie also! I do not care if she is married to that kid now, anyone who is going to say that a late 20s, early 30s female teacher, can fall in love with a kid barely hitting puberty, is a misguided loser. If it was reversed, male teacher, female student, I bet the teacher would have been castrated and he would still be sitting in prison! Forgot his name, but that "secretly" gay former Governor from New Jersey, who was married with children, and lived a lifestyle like that, came out with a book! Was at my mom's house when she was watching that fat pig Oprah, and it was almost like Oprah felt for that man, if he can be called one! And now OJ, lovely, and I bet it will be the #1 best seller!
What is next, a tell all tale by Ted Haggart, about how he sinned then found the path again? Perhaps the family of Tookie Williams will write a book about the "sweet man" we did not know! I think most of you will get the point. I like to read a book as much as many others, but I would never look twice at a book that makes the sole profiteer a felon or disgraceful human being! Personally, I do not care in the least what any of those people have to say, and I wish all of them will just fade away and shut the hell up!
1) I have developed an unholy curiosity for all things Ted Haggard that shows no signs of abating (as evidenced by my hip new avatar). So if a 'tell all' book from the Good Pastor appears on the shelves, detailing his meth fueled gay romps with male escorts in Denver, you can officially count me in for a copy.
2) The Mary Kay LeTourneau thing cannot, IMO, be lumped in with the rest of the sexually predatory sleaze we see in the papers every day. I, for one, would have given my right arm to be seduced by a hot teacher when I was 12-13 years old, and I'm sure that kid became an instant schoolyard legend once word of his exploits was made public. If it was a girl in that spot the dynamics would have been much different. I can recall reading the thoughts of some psychiatrists who sounded off on the issue after it came to light, and most seem to agree that it was very unlikely that the boy would suffer any long term psychological problems as a result of his amarous encounters with Mary Kay. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was a victimless crime, but it's not on par with a 12 year old girl being penetrated by her 6th grade teacher.

Grote, I am sure that book is to come out for one reason, to pay off the Goldmans. So anyone who buys his book, is helping him have an easier time! I hope OJ lives out the rest of his years having the toughest life one can have, and I would not help him one bit, even if the Goldmans may benefit from it!
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Eleven years after his acquittal in the California deaths of his ex-wife and her friend, O.J. Simpson describes in a book how he "hypothetically" killed them.
Relatives of Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman, victims of the headline-grabbing 1994 double murder, expressed frustration that Simpson might profit from the crime, despite his acquittal, The Times of London said Sunday.
Simpson is reportedly being paid $3.5 million for an autobiography in which he discussed his involvement in the murders in hypothetical terms, the Times said.
Details of the book were published in the National Enquirer on the same day that Goldman's father attempt to seize a portion of Simpson's assets as a partial payment of a $33.5 million judgment against the former NFL star after he lost a 1977 civil case, the Times said.
The published account couldn't be verified, but the newspaper provided details of Simpson's account of events, the Times said.
According to the Enquirer, "Simpson prefaces these key pages by ... claiming that this part of the book is 'hypothetical'," the Times said.

<< <i>Sure, I am a man, and when I was a teen years ago, would have loved it if some hottie of a teacher let me do her. But it comes down to ONE major thing, it is a felony, regardless of what sex the perpetrator is!

Sure it's a felony-- and she did something like 5 years because of it.
I'm not saying what she did was LEGAL-- only that it's not the same as a male teacher having sex with a 13 yr. old female student.
That really is an excellent idea. I'd like to see it happen.

She sure did spend time in jail, AFTER she was caught, AFTER she was warned about everything the first time! So in other words, she would have gotten off on everything, if she would not have had any more contact with that kid. That would NEVER happen if sexes were switched. And I am also not saying that you are not saying it is wrong, but regardless of whom or what, whether male or female, it should be treated as the same, without double standards, especially amongst those who are in positions of authority, such as a teacher around many kids of the same age! But to allow her to perhaps profit off her criminal acts should be against the law, or any profits arising out of a book should go to fund "rape victim" causes, things that are related to the felony. If not for funding purposes, perhaps pay the tax payers back for having to support her while she was in jail, or for the law enforcement costs of the tax payers! We all saw the same thing with that blonde teacher last year also, lovely double standard too!
I graduated high school with someone, who got a hummer from a girl we went to school with. He was 18, she was 15 (almost 16 which is the age of consent in Michigan), she was bragging about it to her friend on the telephone, and her mom was silently listening to her bragging about it on another line! Amongst someone who is a peer, he spent a year in jail out of a 4 year sentence, and from all I have heard, she wanted to do it, not like he forced her! She was proud she did the QB of the football team! But one thing, statutory rape is statutory rape!
Wow.
Not saying I condone what he did but that's just a tad harsh...
