Sellers: what day/time do you like to have your auctions end?

Does this even make a difference anymore with the common use of snipe services?

  • I find that the early evening is the best. I try not to have things end in the middle of the night because fewer people are on at that time it seems. I've had a lot of success around what most would consider after dinner time.

Normally sunday nights have been best for mine to end. I dont know if football season affects that though.

As for time, I try to do around 10pm EST., especially on weekday auctions. That way its still early enough for east coast people to bid, and west coast people to get home from work.

Of course all of that is less important now that snipe services have become so big, but it still cant hurt to take those without snipe service into account.

  • I go with 10PM also just because of the above reasons......

I go with between 9 and 10 EST. I actually put some up last night, I haven't done a MOnday ending in a while. Sundays I think haven't been as good as weeknights for the past year or so.

Going good. We went on the honeymoon last week and I have been busy since I have been back playing catch up at work. I should be on more in a week or so..

  • I do feel that evening is best. I don't think day of the week is so important as long as you don't have the same ending at the same time as another seller. Timing is everything and if you have a 1961 Topps Mantle PSA 8, make sure there isn't one ending for at least a day or two to keep seller competition to a minimum! Just my two cents and experience.

sunday evenings after 6pm i think are best when you don't have high end $$$ cards. i think if you are selling high dollar the day/time do not matter as most snipe or bid their max early and just let it ride.

    Thanks,

  • I have always had the best luck between 9 and 11 PM EST
  • Living in California, I can tell you as a buyer there are many auctions that end b/t 5 and 6 PM PST, and often they lose my business since I can't get home in time to bid. I don't snipe, I usually watch the cards I'm interested in and bid in the last half hour. I would say don't end it any earlier than 6:30 PM PST.

I encourage anyone looking to sell Thurman Munson PSA graded cards to end their listings between 3-4am on monday mornings.

Also, be sure to misspell Munson and leave out PSA in the title ( very important )
