Been gone a while, what I miss?

Hey fellas. It's been quite some time. Took a little break from the hobby but now I've got the itch again. I notice some old regulars still hanging out so that's cool, but what ever happened to Zardoz? Anything else major I've missed?

Seems like things are still going strong in the vintage market (my interest). Boy has the registry grown. How come no 64 giants and Kellogg's posts everyday like the days of old?

Glad to be back.

  • I also haven't been around here in couple years, focused more on game used actual items. I kinda just got back into some PSA cards again and reading the message boards. The last big things I recall from when I was here was the WIWAG scandal, something about them resealing slabs??? Stump was getting out and selling off all his cards and MikeSchmidt was going to Harvard....Also we were all trying to figure out who MOSH was? Did Stump ever come back. I can't believe either how the registry has grown. I always heard talk of the PSA getting a tamper proof holder, looks like it's still the same. I still recognize quite a few names.

    I think SM1 banned Zardoz.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Knew that. They were just coming on the scene and buying all kinds of 10's. At the time back then, we didn't know if they were actually building a Museum for sportscards or what. Was it a group of people or just a single collector ect......

Seriously, Zardoz doesn't post here anymore? What happened to his Conseco's?

Looks like I came back at a good time. National is only 2 hours away this year.

Stump is still collecting, had the pleasure of meeting him at the National. Marc S. graduated Harvard and wears his frat tie to work every day. Zardoz is deep, deep undercover trying to clear Canseco's name so he can make a killing on his stash. Wiwag isn't mentioned on this board unless you want the thread zapped. '64 Giants are bountiful in high grades, Davillilo was gone but he's back. MOSH looks to be selling a lot of sets in Mastro, who jacked up the buyers fees and burned a lot of bridges. GAI is down, SGC is up, PSA still owns the market.
No new holder for cards, no half grades. New holder for packs, which will fit thicker GU stuff. Joe O is still running the show, Cosetta still stealing hearts, BJ has the registry running better than ever with over 23K sets.
And that wraps up the Tustin minute, thanks for tuning in.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

    Welcome back Bob!

I was wondering what happened to you. I noticed you were gone, but had no idea what was up. I guess a lot of us take time off here there.

My info was that Zardoz had been banished to the Pacific island of Palau and was carving baseball cards from coconut husks, trying to render the elusive perfect likeness of canseco but they all turn out looking like his brother Ozzie. Was I given poor info?
