The issue: The NFL network is going to be showing eight late season games on Thursday night starting
with Broncos vs Chiefs on Thanksgiving evening. The NFL network wants to charge around 70 cents
per subscriber to the cable networks for the rights to carry the games (an increase from around 20 cents
at the present time). The cable networks are balking at that price and are not budging at the present
time. The NFL network also wants to it to be part of the standard cable package and not in a premium
tier where the subscriber has to pay more. Time Warner, Comcast and Cablevision are the primary cable
companies caught up in the dispute.
I would glady substitute one of those C-span channels for the NFL network if I had my choice.
This might go right down to Thanksgiving eve before some argreement is worked out (if it can be
worked out).

If it was a day game Thanksgiving would have to be at my house since I'm the only one with that channel.
I'm more interested in what he NFL does with the Sunday Ticket contract when it runs out. This dish only thing sucks. All the other sports packages are available on cable.
<< <i>I was wondering about this - as far as I know, my cable company (Charter) does not carry the NFL Network at all. Not good, if they are playing NFL football on Thanksgiving and people can't see the games. >>
Yup. The Chiefs are playing the Broncos in probably the biggest game of the year for us, and we can't see it. Like I want to spend the night talking to my stupid brother in law when a football game is on.
