2006 cards are great to collect - they represent the current stars, routine players (commons) and future stars.
If you enjoy the sport of baseball, e.g., and collect one of the sets for the current year - think of it as a fun way to reinforce the love of the game.
Now, if you're talking about investment? I'ld have to say...not a good idea.

Thank you, I appreciate that. For me it's basically like revisiting an old flame. I collected when I was 9-13 years old and of course I didn't take care of them and ended up discarding them, which is a shame because I had complete sets of Topps baseball from 1978-1985 and Topps Basketball 1979-80 and 1980-81. Now I just have the bug to start collecting again. I bought boxes of this year's baseball, basketball and football and It's fun again for me.
