Thats what they keep telling me. Guess I cant take my collection to a school for show and tell.

I started collecting in 87 with no real interest in a team (until 06 when I took my boys to a Dodger game) and I collected on and off changing to just about every niche until I found "adult" errors. I found my path.

In the big picture of life - a guy shooting double barrelled birds? Not that big a deal anymore?

But, if anyone is gonna return it? Tell Topps you've been so tramatized that only a HOF auto insert card could truly assuage the pain.

Hmm. Looks more like he's signing "L" and "W", reversed, but correct from his head's viewpoint. Since the index-finger and thumb "L" is usually used for "loser", he's gonna use a different finger.

Of course, Topps will take this free PR and run with it. Now everyone's gonna be clamoring after the "new Bill Ripken card."

Yea I agree. I saw those extra fingers that could be a gang sign for all I know so insted of drop $40, a pic will do for now.

What are the best errors?

Would you rather have the error or the correct of a trading card?
Let us say it is a barry bonds, or any player, past or present.
Also the error and correct have no difference in price,
and there are the same number of errors as corrects.

Everything the same, then I would want the correct version unless the error was something funny or odd.

if you are going to display a card, the correct would be nicer than the error. especially if it is a players position error. like the sheffield upper deck.

Donovan, you should check out this week's Sports Illustrated. There's a short article on the history of "birds" in sports. They follow it all the way back to Old Hoss Radbourn who flipped off the camera for his Old Judge card. I looked for a scan of the card, but I couldn't find one. However, I think it's the picture below, but with his left "bird" extended. You should check it out! They also mention the 1972 Sports Illustrated with Larry Czonka flipping his bird.





Anyway, check out the story. I'm happy to send you my copy in the mail, if you'd like.

I know there was a guy in 66 and 67 ? who had his fly down on his BB card. Claude Raymond. My ebay group Adult Sport Card Errors has pics and of similar ones.

Mentions his Drug Abuse Problem. A card corrected early making it valuable. They mentioned something that they later felt shouldnt be on a "kids" card. Probally get sued nowdays for defamation if that happened.
