Rutgers in BCS standings #6? Wow!

Rutgers, up there with Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Florida, and Notre Dame?

Who's next? Stonybrook? image

P.S. Seriously, Rutgers is sixth in the BCS poll, is eighth in the coaches' poll and seventh in the Harris poll. Congrats to the Scarlet Knights who have never been in the top ten before! Rutgers is undefeated so far, and just beat Louisville, who was undefeated. Good job!

We'll soon see one of the things that's wrong with college football today. Does anyone expect this coach to still be at Rutgers next year, or 2008 at the latest?

West Virginia will take care of Rutgers being up there with those teams.

Rutgers deserves to be sixth and deserves to play for the national title if they run the table & knock off WVU. I think USC being ranked third and ND being ranked fifth are far more debatable rankings, IMO.

The SUNY at Stonybrook Seawolves are a Div 1-AA team

So it is impossible to list them in the Div 1A rankings

I was just having fun by using Stonybrook. On their best day, they couldn't beat a ranked team anyway!

Why I used Stonybrook? Just tryin' some olde' New York SUNY good humor, I guess? image

P.S. Good luck to Rutgers in Cincy, as the Scarlet Knights will really need a great performance to win in Cincy and beat the Bearcats! I'd take the Bearcats and the point spread, of course! image I think it should be a very close game, and who know's? Maybe Cincy pulling an outright upset? They say that Cincinnati is only dr@wing 50% (i.e., 21,000) for their home games. Maybe they can fill some extra seats playing a ranked team at home? Anyway hot dogs are still just a buck in Cincy, so I heard! image (Cincy lost this season to some tougher teams: Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Louisville (in a pretty close game!). The Bearcats beat-up on Western KY, and also beat: Akron, Miami (OH), Syracuse and South Florida. Cincy should be "game tough ready" for whatever the Scarlet Knights can dish out in Cincinatti!

If last week's game vs Louisville proved anything, it's that Rutgers can overcome a deficit in the second half!

Not that anyone's gonna believe me *now*, but I actually picked Cincy to win this one and win it big. I just felt Rutgers probably shot their wad last week in beating Louisville.
  • What a let down. But, it happens to the best of teams.

  • dang it. But hey, this program has sure taken some steps in the right direction though. Hopefully they can finish strong and knockoff WVU at seasons end.

Just gives more credibility to those critics of the conference who said no one in the big east deserves a shot at the title game.
