Has anyone ever opened an un-opened T-206 pack for a card?

I was wondering if anyone has ever had the joy of opening one of these up? I've seen them for sale on ebay occasionally, and I was wondering what people think of this. Would the card be totally shot?

There was a thread that talked about this a while ago, but I can't find it now. I've never opened one, but from what I recall, it's quite difficult to tell if the pack contains a T206 card at all. Even if the tax stamp and other markings are legible, there may not be a guaranteed way to prove that a T206 lies inside. Some contain cards of flowers, etc.

As to the condition of the card, good question. I would think a polar bear pack would have destroyed the card, since it would have been in direct contact with the tobacco for all these years. If it is any other cigarette, the wrapping may have protected the card, at least a little.

A buddy of mine has two packs (both have been encapsulated by GAI)
He has talked to a lot of people and there does not appear to be any way to be sure what is inside,
could be a treasure, or ..... ??

I have tried to get him to let me list them for him, but so far he is holding on to them.
I think he wanted $5000 apiece.

They come up on ebay from time to time, and I believe they usually go under $1,000.
