One Loss Teams Blow It on Saturday

Cal, Auburn, and UT all blew golden opportunities saturday, all lost very winnable games.

Looks like USC has a strong chance to move up to 3, with Florida's sad showing yesterday. USC has a real bear of a schedule coming up, but the games are at home, and we've gotten the one win pretenders (especially overrated and overhyped UT) out of the way.

Should make for a very interesting final stretch of football.

UCS blows...plain and simple. Cal will beat em hands down. Florida will loose to Ark in the SEC championship. I think your going to see a very boring rematch between Mich and OSU for the nationals...

What makes you say this? And Call will beat them? The same Cal team that just lost at home to an Arizona team that was 4-5 coming in?

Who exactly has USC beat that are legit contenders? Throw in the fact they lost to Oregon State they aren't worthy of a BCS championship bid. Plus, ND will beat USC.

They've beaten:

9-1 Arkansas
8-3 Nebraska
5-5 Arizona which just beat Cal
6-5 WA state
6-4 Arizona St.
7-3 Oregon

Tell me how these wins don't make them worthy of a BCS championship bid?

As far as ND beating them? hah. That's a good one...talk about a school that has beaten NOBODY in the two years Weiss has been there.

USC is likely to win out and if they do, they should be playing the winner of the OSU/Michigan game for the national title.

They just are not a power house this year. The only reason they beat Ark was becuase they had not established their running game at that time and were trying to win with passing.

Ark today would destroy USC.

Quite a leap saying Cal will go from losing to a .500 team to beating USC. Same with ND, who, again, have they beaten in 2 years?

One could argue that, or one could say there's a ton more film on Ark now, and USC have the athletes to dominate them again. Let's remember, Arkansas didn't barely lose - they won 50-14.

Possibly...

Don't get me wrong. They are a great team, its just hard to judge based on teams first games. I mean...UT destroyed Cal in their 1st game. As in, had to put in their third string by the end.

Today, I think Cal would whoop UT (just look what Arkansas did to us)
