Home Metal Detecting

Little I.D. help on this coin??

Found the coin this morning in a tot lot.
It is about the size of a silver dollar and has a little weight to it.
I had to use some baking soda on it as there was some small rust spot's on it but they came off real easy.
Thank's for any help and HH,Tom

The lower picture looks like the reverse of a China Tai-ch'ing ti-kuo silver dollar 1908.
The obverse I do not recognize.
The regular coin obverse has a dragon and in a circle the English words "TAI-CH'ING TI-KUO SILVER COIN".
It may be some kind of token or a "warlord" issued copy.

Do you know what metal it is made of?

    Check it with a magnet.

My guess is that its a cheep Chinese fake made from pot metal and mismatched dies. I can buy them at the 99cent store here. I've seen 3 sizes.

My theory is it is a medal of some sort with one side mimicking an actual coin design.

PS- very cool find, even if it ain't a coin. I'll bet it made your heart skip a beat when it came outta the ground, eh?
