1971 Topps Ryan - Any chance for a PSA 8?

Here is is. I am concerned with centering top to bottom. Would this get an 8?

I notice there's a little white along the left and right edges. Maybe around 7ish if you're lucky.

    Looks like an 8OC.

  • I think it's an 8, but I think PSA will give it a 7.

I'm no expert on 71s, but if I saw that card at a shop or show in a psa 9 holder I wouldn't think twice.

I would think 8 oc, but SGC 88 isn't out of the question at all.

Looks like an 8oc. Watch for recoloring on those borders.

I had one with simlar centering, came back 8 o/c
  • I would say 8 o/c. If it was mine I would put it in a nice scratch free 1" screwdown. Beautiful card.

First, nice looking card. The ryan is one of my favorites of this great set.

I'd say a 8OC (top to bottom centering), but may be a straight 7, hard to tell just how much of an impact that chipping on either side is going to affect the grade.

    Overall, very nice card.

With the centering that doesn't even meet an 8 standard??? You do realize that if it was a straight PSA 9, it would be posted here as "what the @%#$! was PSA thinking?!?!?"

    Straight 7 all day.

Absolutely no chance of an OC qualifier.

I think this is a strong unqualified 7.

To my eye that's either an 8OC or (more likely) a straight 7. I think we've reached a fair consensus that T/B centering doesn't affect eye appeal nearly as much as L/R.

In any case, that's a lovely item.
  • May be too much white showing on the borders for an 8. I don't think it's o/c. Likely 7. Great card no matter what!
