Finally Cracked the Top 100; Lincoln Cents Basic Set, Circulation Strikes (1909-1958)

image Been working on this set since March of this year and finally cracked the Top 100. I'm at #99image I have been mainly looking for Lincolns with color. This means RB and BN examples. Tough to move up when the focus is on Lincolns with color like mine is. I'll never be in the top 25 but I'm going to have a bunch of fun along the way. I feel this series has a tremendous upside. There's a huge amount of collectors in this series and 2009 is fast approaching. Heres a link to the set if anyone cares to check it out:

    Lee, congratulations.

Let's face it ... If you are not constantly adding to the set, you will lose ground no matter what grade you are collecting. I'm somewhere in the 40's, but I've dropped two or three places in the last month because I haven't added any coins and other people just keep adding coins or sets. It's a HOT series.

If you want to see constant "RED" on the registry, take a peek at the "Complete Set." Half the sets are moving virtually all of the time. Some people are on a mission!

  • Congratulations on your Wheaties set breaking into the top 100. I viewed the set and you have great
images to share. Keep climbing up the ladder but, most importantly, keep having fun.

    Nice set Lee.

I love that 1926 of yours.

Awesome! Just have fun and don't get sucked into the competition.

Yeah, like that guy who went 3K+ for a 34D Lincoln. Look forward to you breaking 50. Mike

What makes you set so great and fun to look at?

Well every coin has an image...
    Every image is beautiful...
The descriptions are uniformly well done...
The coins are all great quality and grade...

    Very inspiring for me.

That guy no longer plays the registry game and is putting his collection together for his own enjoyment. Not that I would know him, but I would guess those are his feelings.image

Thanks for all the kind words guy'simage I always try to keep in mind that coin collecting should be a fun pass time. I do get "caught up" at times in the "Registry Fever". Now I think twice, or three times, before making a purchase to ensure it's for the right reason.image
  • Lee,
Very nice photos and a nice set. That is my next project to master the digital
camera my wife purchased and image my coins. I am at #47 and have ran
out of gas for now so this will be fun and add to the enjoyment of my collection.
Any photo tips would be very helpful.

  • WAY TO GO LeeG Always great to see some awesome toners added to your set. I love the 1945-P
That coin has some Beautiful color to it. It's all in having FUN in collecting my Sig Line set has went down
since I started it as I've also added some great Toners that make full Red lincolns seem boring. Color adds
life to my set and hopefully is enjoyed by all as much as I enjoy them. Have ENJOYMENT with your
set as you add to it.
