It's the "right kind of buyer" coin. I personally prefer a business strike for a fraction of its price.

Who said anything about 'fractions'?

Spink currently has this at 800 quid ($1520 currently), but copper has generally been discounted for the last year unless it's absolutely top-tier, or has been off the market for decades.

Uhh, beg to differ on that last point. Pennies especially have been "off the hook" over the last year and more (see Gregory sales and Bamford collections). Also the farthings sold in Colin Cooke's sale were eye opening.

Good copper pieces are almost crushing in price performance and demand. Even piece not from such collections are doing very well, and not just the premier dates/specimens. Even later date bunheads are performing well.

Beautiful cheek! I love to look at NEN coins but my impression is that they don't establish a price as much as they do a ransom demand!

PS Maybe one of the older members can tell us if Victoria's nose was really that pointy?!
