Cheap Find, Made My Day

On my weekly trip to Half Price Books I pikced up Me and My Dad by Paul O'Neill. I thought about it ($6) and then saw the signatureimage. I looked for that Autograph sticker booksellers put on autoed stuff but found none. When I looked on the title page I found this:

Dear David, Happy Father's Day. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed meeting Paul. Love Always Mom.

Not a big mojo pull, or that white whale I was looking for but a nice Yankee Autographed piece for the book shelf.

Anyone have similiar stories on nice finds?

    Very nice pickup Munson.

I picked up an auto book of Bill Russell - he's a tough signer - nobody wanted it since it was personalized.

    And that's fine with me.

    Congratulations on a nice find.

Nice pickup of a great Reds star. image

I once found a copy of Pat Williams's (former Orlando Magic GM) book, autographed "To Nick, Best Wishes, Pat Williams" for a dollar at a rummage sale. Needless to say, I bought it.

My best recent cheap pickup was a copy of Tom Lehrer's "That Was the Year That Was" 45 record (unscratched) with a near mint album cover for a dollar at an estate sale.
