Paypal is up to the same old tricks

I have an older paypal non merchant account that allows cash transfers of up to $500/month. It doesn't allow credit cards for this type of account and I am o.k. with that policy. Keep in mind, I dont advertise that I take paypal in my auctions. If it's convenient for a buyer to make a payment with a cash transfer, it works for me as well. Occassionally, I get a credit card payment and in the past I have just rejected the payment. Now, they have disabled the deny payment button. When I called them, they say in order to reject the payment, I have to upgrade the account. This makes no sense to me.

Regards,

Alan

Instead of upgrading your account you should tell them I won't use your crappy service anymore. I have had bad experiences with Paypal before as well.

email the person that sent you the payment and see if they can take it back from their end somehow?

That's where it gets even worse. They are telling me that it has to just sit there for a whole month. At that point, I guess it becomes magically o.k. for paypal to purge it.

I told the buyer several times that I cant take a credit card...but they either didn't read it, didn't understand it, or just chose to ignore it.

then if it were me, his money would be sitting there an entire month or he can call his CREDIT CARD and try to cancel it.

In the meantime, since he can't follow instructions, I'd ask him to pay for the card following your terms.
