Paying it forward - A must read

I have had the pleasure of dealing with many of you over the past three years. I inquirred about Packer cards in the 1980's wax pack busting. To this day I have received numerous extras in my packages. The top prize was a 1968 Bart Starr. I also got many extas from personal collections. Many of which will be sent in to PSA.

As a thank you I want to start a Pay if Forward thread.

What is paying it forward you ask. Well, if a person does a good deed to you, you in turn do a good deed for another.

The way I would like to spin this is to have a person list an item in this thread that someone could use in their personal collection and not for resale. The item should be sent for free and the postage prepaid so no money changes hands. Once the item is received that person is on the pay if forward chain. They now list an item and the first to reply stating they want it gets it, and so forth. You can be paid forward more than once but common sence would allow for many to participate. If you break the chain Lawnmowerman will ring you head with a cowbell for seven straight weeks.

So what do you think?

I will get it started by listing an entire set of 2004 Fleer Ultra football 1-200. Who wants it?

Farvefan, I'll start the chain. I'll take the 2004 Ultra set as I am a football collector. Not really a modern collector, but I will add it to my football sets already.
To pay it forward, My daughter is a big Tiger Woods fan and I bought her (and I) a case of 2001 UD Golf. I will offer a full set from that break to whoever wants it.
Farve, I'll get together with you on shipping.

  • FavreFan, can we get multiple payings of things forward going at once or do we have to wait for the current item to be claimed? I might have a few things to send to people.

Would loved to have been a little faster as the 84 Donruss set would have been really nice to have but if the 1986 Topps football cards are still available I would love to have them as all I have of that set is a couple of cards so this could be a start towards a set.

Edited to add: Well if they are 87's I have a near set lacking one card so I would pass on them.
  • i'm not sure if i replyed in time for the 84 set or not, but regardless i think this is a great idea. i have so much stuff i'd love to give away to someone who could appreciate it. not sure where to start but i'll throw up a lot of 22 emmitt smiths that have been sitting around forever. there is a rookie or two, a playoff promo, a couple inserts, 1 numbered insert, and a '91 score card form the National, along with a few base cards. you guys know anyone who collects Emmitt?

ROD CAREW FANS - I have about 1,200-1,400??? Rod Carew cards from '68 forward (mostly 1980--&gtimage. Nothing before 1980 worth sending to PSA. I have kept one of each card and want to get rid of the rest. I am still a big Rod Carew fan but I just don't need them all. This is aimed at the Rod Carew collector looking to pick up some BULK for their collection. All brands including some O Pee Chee, Kellogs, etc... and of course tons of Topps, Fleer and Donruss. Anyway, I don't know what it would cost to ship it from California to it's new home but I should think $14 would be close enough for me. Or figure out exact postage. I am not looking to make anything on the deal. Just paying it forward.... Send me a PM if interested.

Sitll have the 2001 Golf Set if any one is interested? If not, I'll root around for something else. I've got some complete sets of other cards.
How about a complete 1989 Topps Football Set. A 1991 UpperDeck Baseball set. Let's see if any wants these so I can pay it forward.
