My pocket piece Peace

Bought this at the Pittburgh ANA in 2004 for $4 and I still love it to death. It was honestly worn down then I guess someone polished it because it is very bright, but I kinda like it that way. This is one of those coins I will never sell. Anyone else have any "pocket piece Peaces?"

COOL coin! Not one you have to worry about harming the grade by handling! I don't have a pocket piece lately since I liquidated my holdings but I will be back soon!

Wow that is one worn coin! I wonder just how many years that coin was in someone's pocket.......oh the places it has been.

I don't have any pocket Peaces but I do have a pocket piece (confusing eh?). Only been working on it for a few months but it's gone through the wash four or five times. It makes a nice noise in dryer. image

May add an Ike to the other pocket to balance the load. It feels odd having that much weight in one pocket.

  • here is my pocket piece SAE. I've been working on it for a few months. I also keep pocket change in the same pocket to help it out

Yes, I keep a pocket Peace dollar. Depending on the given year I normally will give at least one and maybe several away. I generally buy them as sliders, as I don't want to mess up an unc, but like a nice clean coin. Talking about clean, one thing that gets me is that whenever you get another coin with black gunk on it in change, for some reason the gunk ALWAYS migrates to the Peace dollar, even if there are plenty of other coins in the pocket. Of course, it's normally quite easy then to wipe the gunk off the Peace dollar with a napkin or whatever.

My current one is a 1922-P in AU 50ish.
