There was a weird greenish light outside, which we often get before and after a rainstorm. Can't really describe it.
It's just been very slightly drizzly here, though- no real rain to speak of. Then the clouds started moving and the orange light came. Suddenly everything was bathed in this warm golden color. (It's a horrible cliché, that description, but oh well).
I'd been thinking of going out, perhaps to the old plantation site that's less than a half mile from here, on the other side of the river.
I stepped outside the front door and saw this:
Guess where the other end of that rainbow is.
D'you suppose somebody's trying to give me a hint?
I think I have my new sigline picture, at the very least.
The last time we had this weird light, it got all orangey, and I shot one of my past favorite sigline pictures, in the backyard:

It's been very productive for my friend Billy, but not so much for me. I did get my last silver coin there. (Only my second silver this year).
Here's goes Billy, diggin' a Spanish half-real, a 1798 large cent, a couple of other large cents, an 1864 2c piece, a nickel three cent piece, 1829 and 1834 half dimes, several Shield nickels, and an 1854-O Seated dime...
... and I got only one silver dime. And it was a Mercury. Oh, well. It was a nice, early Merc, at least. Made me happy. But I sure wish I could find some of the sorta stuff Billy has. The site is mostly overgrown, now- everything they cleared this summer is now a thicket. Only the road remains clear enough to walk around on, just as it was before they started clearing. A lot of Billy's finds were made in the road, though, before they cleared, so there is still hope.

BentFork PM'ed me this one. It's frighteningly close to reality.
