Annual coin show newps...

Posted a similar thread on the lightside with the 3 U.S. pieces I picked up, but most of what I snagged was darkside.
Sunday was our annual local coin show and car wash, and I spent a few hours trying to find some interesting stuff. Not nearly as good pickings as last year, but I picked up a few things, concentrating on toners that caught my eye. Some aren't the greatest shape in the world, but oh well.
[Not pictured here, but I also picked up a nice batch of late 1800s Danish and Swedish pieces destined for my Ebay Store in the next few weeks.]
1. A pair of Swiss 2 Rappen from 1936.

2. A bunch of modern Irish crap.

3. Great Britain 1/2 Penny 1826. Not quite as nice as it originally seemed (lighting in the Civic Center where the show is held is absolutely ABYSMAL).

4. Great Britain 1/2 Penny, 1841. Scuffed up as hell, but the toning is just gorgeous. I agonized over spending the money for this one, but the color won me over.

5. Canada 1 Cent 1899. Not the prettiest example gradewise, but seriously funky coloring.

6. Ireland 10 Pence Bank Token, 1813. Lovely little piece with subtle peripheral toning. Me likey.

7. France 10 Centimes 1865 A. This one came out of nowhere. All the other darkside this dealer had was complete and utter crappola. Bizarre...

8. Great Britain 1/2 Penny, 1900. Lots of chatter, but the color on this one is just plain mesmerizing... was only $8 too...

I'm sorry - I had to laugh. "Coin show and car wash" just struck me as a funny combination.
The Victorian and Irish coins are beauties!!!

<< <i>What a great haul - the pictures are,once again, excellent!!!

Thanks.
I find myself in a somewhat ironic situation: I'm selling off the majority of my raw coins, replacing them with higher-end slabbed material... but (IMHO) my pictures of raw coins turn out SOOOOOOOO much better than my pictures of slabs. In my opinion it's not even close. Too much fighting reflection, well wall shadows, scuffs and scratches, etc.
So I ultimately end up with subpar pictures of superior material and superior pictures of lower-end material. Go figure.
