Anyone ever find a card they needed in their set?

I just sifted through my 1972 Pirates team set to put them in some kind of order and take some scans and found a 1972 Topps Dave Cash PSA 8 just sitting in my pile, unregistered. I have been looking for this card for years. I can't believe I bought this and never registered it or worse couldn't remeber getting it. I must be a old 31. The Cash is one of the toughest cards in the Pirates set.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set

Never did that yet! Good one image although I have received a card in the mail and for the life of me could NOT figure out who or why I got it.

  • What's worse is when you go to file away that card you paid big money for and then find that you've already got it. I've done both!

I have never made that mistake, however I did not bid on a card because I thought I had it.

My problem is the opposite. My 1961 set is complete (needs a handful of upgrades to be all 8s) but I can not find the Gary Peters card. I have registered it, but I can not find it. I have been through numerous boxes to no avail. I might have to buy it again.

Funny, I just did that. I needed a Card for my 1981 Donruss Golf set in a PSA 10, I had a 9 but needed the upgrade. I purchased one from ebay (Buy it Know), paid too much but did not care, I wanted the card. Well, when I went to add it to my set, SURPRISE, I already had a PSA 10 of that card in my set and it was registered.... OOOPS How did I miss that?

    Expensive mistake for me
