cracking the mint codes....any lists available?

I have several unopened mint boxes of various half dollars, Sacs, and SHQs, which I had at one time placed small stickers on the edges - well, time has done it's thing, and the stickers have fallen off, and I'm now at a loss as to what's in the boxes. I know which are SHQs, and which are nickels, etc, but I don't know the specifics - year and mint. I tried the mint website, where you would think they keep an archived list of codes & corresponding product, but I can't find one if it's there. Any help out there?

Please don't make me dig through all my mint invoices! I guess I could go back and look through all my order history on the mint website, but I just hoped there is an easier way.

Try typing the codes in the eBay search. Some sellers put them in the listing.

  • Can you post some of the codes? Some people on here may have the same ones and be able to tell you what they are.
  • Thanks for the suggestions - I have a box of Sacs w/code 2M4 - the sticker says 'D' sacs, but I didn't put a year on them - I think they are '04, but not sure.

  • Well, I'm glad I bought them way back (that sounds strange....) in 2003! They have been gathering dust in the closet, and I've ben trying to do a major clean-up, organization, valuation type thing with the mess that is my collection. I can't decide whether I should open the roll and search it, or throw it in the 'Bay and see what it gets.

Amanda - a special image THANK YOU!

I still think the mint should have a reference of codes to products on their website - how hard could that be????

Click Here for a partial list. Just use the search tool on that page to find the other items (type in the mint code).
