my 2000 britannia has toned

in its original packaging. I keep stuff like this and mint and proof sets in a big box in my closet. this is really the only coin I have seen that has toned so drastically. The reverse is blast white.

(Just think of city streets clogged with a hundred thousand horses each generating 15 lbs of manure every day...)
Some of the proof Britannias that I bought on eBay, arrived with very light golden toning, especially around the rims. Kind of surprising, since the smaller proofs appear to housed in Airtite-like rings. Nonetheless, I like the toning.
Well, just Love coins, period.

I have all my Britannia's in air tites except the 2006 which I kept in the original packaging, lets see what happens to that one eh?
Now remind me - is the surface of the coin open to the air via holes in the plastic cover?
