collectors plates...what's the deal?

I have a bunch of these some autographed, some not. I know they were popular in the late 80's and early 90's but what about now? Are they worth anything? The ones I see on ebay don't look like they are selling and if they are not for much. Are the autographed ones worth sending into PSA/DNA?

I'll eat off of them before I sell them for 5 bucks!

I don't think you're supposed to eat off them....something about the paint.
I picked up a Hershiser about 15 years ago at a discount closeout store; it cost hardly anything and it's probably worth about the same.
On the subject of plates, I like this one:

  • I know that these were $40-$60 when bought new. Now I see them for $10...GO FIGURE!
I have some that are auto'd by DiMaggio and Mantle, do you think it would be worth the $75 to send into PSA/DNA?
They are nice collectables but the thought of collecting plates and hanging them up is a little silly.
