Vikings lay down and put up a 3 spot against the Niners and then come and talk Pitt smack? I can't talk from personal experience, but
me thinks the Bronco d is a weeee bit tougher than the Niner D. Bears finally lose and you all lay down. ouch

    Thanks for playing

I'll agree with that......Roethlisalphabetberger may end up being a one year wonder.

To me, even more surprising that Ben's poor play has been the awful play of the Pittsburgh defense. They've always been a smash mouth team under Cowher but not this year. They really miss the Bus, too.

Ben's poor play? How often can you say that about a guy who threw for over 400 yards in a game? But I know what you mean - he failed on a few key drives (including an INT near the red zone at the end of the first half).

I'm not so sure they miss the Bus either - Parker has been putting up nice numbers. Its tough to put your finger on exactly why they keep losing.

Nothing is more tough in the NFL then playing well the year after a Super Bowl win. The Patriots have made it a art form but they are a freak of nature. I suspect the whole organization kinda went soft a bit combined with some unfortunate happenings have led to a dismal season so far.

They sure missed him last week at Oak when they 1st & goal from the 1 and couldn't get in.

But I think it's been the poor play of the D more than anything. They are playing very soft for a Cowher coached team. Walker torched them today.

Didn't they lose 7 or 8 starters from last year?

perhaps that has somthing to do with this collapse?

also the super bowl winner gets a hard schedule too?

You offer nothing of value to any conversation. I've yet to see an informative post from you. Who do you like? The Raiders...Randy Moss? Good luck with them...

Edited to say: Learn how to spell Pittsburgh bozo...Or are you 12 years old?

The guy they probably miss the most? Not Bettis...it would be Randle El. He gave them a guy who could at least hang onto the ball on returns.

BTW those raiders beat those Superbowl champs...

The problem lies in Big Ben not being 100%, either physically or mentally.

Had they allowed Batch to play after Ben's concussion and this week too, the Steelers likely win both games...I'm not sure why they rushed him back in so soon, especially since Batch had proved he could win games.

Oh well, 2-6 matches the all time worst 8 game record for a super bowl winner.

Seems like something isn't right in Pittsburgh, but a bad team no way. I'd hate to have to play them last game of the season needing a win to make the playoffs. There are a lot of other teams I'd rather go up against. The line between losing and winning is very thin in the NFL, they are all on scholarships.

About the Ward-Moss thing, has Randy Moss EVER blocked someone in his life? I'd take Ward every day of the week over Moss, and twice on Sundays...

Ward is a class act all the way, he plays WR like a linebacker at times, knocking people down and blocking on running plays like no WR I've ever seen. And, he's been putting up fine numbers at WR - no matter who his QB has been.

Moss? I don't think we need to say much about him, do we?

Considering ward has only come close once in his career in scoring td's close to moss I don't think so... Tell me when a team would rather have a WR that blocked that scored 10-15 touchdowns a year.... Thanks come again. Maybe if Big Ben had a WR that could get open by himself and not rely on other players garnering attention so that he could get open, Big ben would look better.. Guess you guys miss Randle EL taking all that attention...

as bad as they are, they are still the defending champs. I would not mind if they were my team and delivered 5 rings in a lifetime. But yeah, they do suck.

After watching the pathetic Raiders tonight, I'd have to say the Steelers are one of the worst teams in the NFL, because this Raiders team is just flat out pathetic.

You mean even with a cap these two teams are pathetic? I thought the NFL with the CAP made sure that this would not happen.

I'm confused now, does a cap ensure parity or not?

Sorry if this question is off topic but I can't believe a team can go from the superbowl one year to the toilet bowl the next.

    It's called:
1-Turnovers...lots of 'em (almost as many as ALL of last year, already)
2-A young QB making lots of bad decisions
    3-More turnovers!

Actually, most of their statistical categories are comparable or better than last year, but the turnovers are killing them.

A cap sure does ensure parity. Compare the percentage of teams who are in the playoff hunt until the very end to baseball, and you'll see a cap does work.

And the cap ensures that more teams are rotating through the playoffs than a league without. Smart coaching and scouting still is rewarded (look at the patriots).
