In the paper today it was reported that Sammy is thinking about making a comeback. he has a desire to reach 600 dingers. My opinion is that he should let sleeping dogs lay.

Also, Sheffield has threatened to possibly retire if the Yanks use the option they have and then trade him. He said that if the new team does not give him a new deal that he just may retire instead. My opinion on that is why would he walk away from 13 mil? (the amount of the option) and the chance to reach 500 homers?

ahhh the wonderful world of pro sports.

Steve
Good for you.

So Sheffied is going the whiney, poor me, guilt route, eh? All the more reason for Yanks to pick up his option and trade him.

Of course he is doing this to either make the Yanks keep him and play him in the OF or just let him go free. He was the one who decided to sit out all season with his "injury" and he was also the one to sign a contract with the last year being an option....so suck it up and honor your contract Sheffield, how ever it turns out!

I say trade him to the D'Rays!

Sheff has been threatening to retire since he was with San Diego. It's too bad baseball doesn't treat him like any other employer and fire him just for being a complete A- hole.
I was really happy to see him leave the Dodgers, less we hear of him now. Isn't he Dwight Godden's nephew? Maybe Doc can tell him how rough the real world is.
