PICK THE CORRECT YEAR - WIN 2 PACKS! ('84 Donruss Champions should have all arrived by now?)

Hey winners! Your (2) packs of 1984 Donruss Champions, should be arriving, my guess, starting on Election Day, November 7th! I promise fun, so post some pics, and maybe we can display a complete set of these cards, online for the first time in the history of the world? (..guess I just got carried-away a little?)
Here is the checklist for this 60 card set: 1984 Donruss Baseball Champions Yesterday and Today (note: the 10 players in bold below, were in the HOF in 1984. Instead of photographs, Donruss has paintings of these 10 HOFers on the cards. Boy oh boy! If you look thru this 1984 checklist, there are "tons more" players now in the Hall of Fame from this set!)

What the heck!
Topps, and their affiliates (OPC, etc.), with all their years of experience in the manufacture and distribution of millions and millions of baseball packs with a stick of Bazooka Bubble Gum inside, didn't figure out (or just didn't care?) that the gum inside, eventually breaks down, and sticks to the card next to the gum (or as we all know too well, can even ruin more than one card in the pack!)...
Just how many important cards, wound-up in the "junk pile" because of that tiny stick of Bazooka Buble Gum?
My guess is a whole bunch of otherwise nice cards became worthless and uncollectable just because of a stick of gum, yikes!
Topps was able to figure out that gum damages cards inside packs, and these packs and the cards inside were not just "child play things", to wind-up in the spokes of a child's bike tire!
Take a look at the wrapped piece of Bazooka Bubble Gum and try to guess what year pack I found it in?
Here are your choices: PICK AND POST THE CORRECT YEAR!
(Make sure you not only vote above, but also post your choice here, so u can win!)
1978 NOT!
1982 NOT!
1986
1995 NOT!
2002 NOT!
I have PM'd the correct year to: 80sJunkie
So go ahead and guess which is the correct year that I pulled that wrapped stick of Bazooka bubble gum from? The first (17) players to guess (or know) the correct year will win (2) unopened packs of 1984 Donruss Baseball Champions of Yesterday & Today.
I promise all winners will be delighted with these 10 cards (5 to a pack!). They're just beautiful cards!
Why be so generous you ask? Well don't worry about me, as I have a almost a full case of unopened "Champions" boxes in storage!). And I just thought it would be lots fun for board to crack a box of 36 packs online, one me! At least we can scan a pic of all 60 cards in this great set (59 cards plus a checklist!) for all to see!
Rules:
Again, the 1st 17 folks that pick the correct year, I will send (2) packs of these fun cards!
Plus 80sJunkie, as the "official witness" to the correct year, I have marked him down as the 18th winner!
So that means we will have a total of 18 winners (17 + 80sJunkie)!
Plus, the first one with the correct year will get the pack with Mickey Mantle on the top!
Good luck to all and let's have some fun!

Edited to add:] In that case I'm going with '86
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

dave, the actual year for my piece of wrapped Bazooka gum was 1986, as I pulled it from an '86 Topps Hockey pack.
I have been PM'd by someone who saw this same stick of wrapped gum, also in a 1984 Hockey pack, which makes sense, because the copyright date on the gum reads 1984.
