Mercury registry set

Just thought I'd post my Mercury Dime set that I started. The ultimate goal is to have the complete set in rattler slabs, I guess we'll see how that ends up. I fully expect this set to take quite some time but I look forward to the challenge. It started as somewhat of a lark but I'm really developing an appreciation for these little ladies. I'm even beginning to understand and recognize the FB designation, now if I can only figure out the grading.

There's nothing high grade and no pictures (yet) but I'm really pleased with how it's progressed already. I might have even found a 1916-S in the rattler, maybe the label will be wrong and it will actually be a 1916-D (well I can dream can't I).

I also appreciate the info and help from a couple of forum members with regards to this set.

Interesting, when I get a coin in a rattler I have it reholdered as soon as I can.

I had a 39-S, but sold it to a dealer. I just never have much luck selling coins on the forum.

I did sell some Barber halves to Bear and a Bust dime to Stooge. Thanks guys!imageimage

If you ever get any other Mercurys in a rattler I'd be interested, same goes for anyone else. So far these rattlers are tough to locate in the earlier years.

    Thanks everyone,

Let me think.........They still have to make it past 30AnvZ28 and last time he was ahead of me in a swap he ended up with the coins I was hoping for.

You know it's all your fault I started this set. The first 2 I selected from your coin tag were the first rattlers I'd ever seen and the first slabbed Mercurys I had. It took about a week to decide to start this set and it's all downhill from there.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed because if they make it back to me they're mine.

Those are some very nice coins CameoCC and I'll be inquiring about some of them real soon. I think I need to work a few more hours before I really start thinking about that list.
